Easy to fill and fits multiple machines!

Posted by Elisabeth Lee on 23rd Aug 2018

I do have a Brother sewing machine, but I actually bought these to use in my Bernina Bernette Deco 340 embroidery machine. They are a perfect fit! I have had no problems with rough edges catching the thread and the bobbins are really easy to thread when refilling. As bobbins do get carried off by kitties and small children, my number has dwindled (none have broken or been damaged) and when the number gets too low I will definitely be ordering more of these!

    Finally, the prefect bobbins!

Posted by Student on 23rd Aug 2018

I struggled with finding these model bobbins in Joanns for years. They kept telling me a certain universal brand would work, but when I went to use them, bobbin issues would abound. It was annoying to the point that I thought I needed a new machine. It wasn't until I was looking for singer bobbins that the sales lady leveled with me. She asked me what bobbins I was looking for, I said ones for a singer, and she said, "good, we don't carry any other type." I order these when I got home, tested them out when they arrived, and promptly returned the singer to Joanns once I realized my bobbin issues were a thing of the past. TL;DR: These revived my nearly 10 year old ce-4000 and let me avoid a costly mistake!

    Bobbin problems? Use OEM bobbins!

Posted by Jessica C. on 22nd Aug 2018

My poor Brother XR-65T has had all sorts of bobbin problems over the years I've had it. I thought it was a piece of junk until someone suggested trying the SA156 OEM bobbins in my machine (and giving the area around the feed dogs and bobbin race a good cleaning). Holy cow, it was like night and day -- no more tension issues, no more thread nests and no more headaches. I learned on a vintage Singer and assumed for many years that generic multi-machine bobbins were fine because they worked without problems in that older machine. Now I know my Brother is just very particular about having in-spec bobbins to work correctly and will be sticking with these recommended ones from here on out.

    The real deal

Posted by Molpadia on 22nd Aug 2018

After buying a "10-pack" of cheap knockoff SA156 bobbins, which did not work well at all, I spent a few extra dollars to get the real thing and I'll always do so from now on. The difference in quality between the two is laughable - these are the real deal, smooth, perfectly sized, no sharp nubs of plastic in the middle of the stems like the knockoffs (also purchased here at Amazon) had, no sharp edges to scratch your bobbin case. I highly recommend saving yourself some time and frustration and picking up these actual Brother bobbins if you have a machine that uses SA156 (and no, I don't work for Brother, just love my machine!). They might be cheaper elsewhere, I haven't checked my local stores yet, but even if not I'd rather pay a few extra dollars and get some quality bobbins that won't wreck my machine or cause me to waste time endlessly winding and rewinding.

It is so handy to have a whole bunch of them pre-wound with different thread colors for easily switching between projects

Posted by Mama JNO on 22nd Aug 2018

These are well worth the money. I tried buying the cheap generic ones and they simply do not work in my machine. They don't spin properly and I end up with skipped stitches, tangles, and all sorts of problems. There really is no substitute for the real thing when it comes to these bobbins. It is so handy to have a whole bunch of them pre-wound with different thread colors for easily switching between projects.

Brother ones are better than generic! Good buy!

    Posted by K. L. S. on 21st Aug 2018

I ordered these bobbins due to needing a lot more after buying a new machine. I didn't realize that the generic ones screw up your thread tension. I learned this the hard way. Mine arrived just like the picture and have a tiny b on them if you look very closely. I would never buy the cheap ones again!

    it Matters

Posted by born too late on 21st Aug 2018

Listen, when your sewing machine manual tells you to only use one kind, pay attention. I bought some that I thought looked exactly the same as the ones that came with my machine (Brother LS590), but right from the start I had tension issues. So I ordered a set of these and my tension problems cleared right up. So IT REALLY MATTERS. Just because other bobbins are plastic and look to be about the same size, doesn't mean they will work properly with your machine. I don't know exactly what it is that makes a difference, I just know that it does. And this 10 pack is cheap enough that there's no good reason for not keeping extras on hand. If you aren't sure, you can probably find an e-version of your manual on-line. Brother has them on their website. This model, the SA156, will work with many differen Brother machines, as you will note if you look it up here.

Perfect for the Brother CS6000i sewing machine

Posted by Judy L. on 21st Aug 2018

I bought these bobbins for my Brother CS6000i sewing machine, and they work perfectly with this machine both for loading them and in use. I like having multiple bobbins available since I can keep some of the loaded with the thread colors that I use most. It also save on wasting thread when you have to change to a different color. So far, I have had absolutely no problems with these bobbins for my sewing machine.

    Buy all the bobbins!

Posted by Anna Chipman on 20th Aug 2018

I have a Brother SE400 which requires a certain type of bobbins, these, and so I needed to order a set of these. I had picked up non-named brand previously but those didn't seem to work well with my machine. I returned those and spent a dollar or so more to have the Brother bobbins. Using these bobbins gives me the peace of mind that my machine will stay in good working order. Brother is certainly going to make a product that can work well with their machine. Pros: Works like a charm and I am super happy! Cons: None I would buy these and will probably buy more very soon!
