Our collections are anything but ordinary. We introduce 3 to 4 brand-new batik collections each year, each one bursting with rich color, intricate pattern, and unmistakable artisan character.
The Art Behind the Fabric (How it is designed and manufactured)
Every Batik Textiles design begins with the creative vision of our Lead Designer, Danica Bartelme. Since 2019, Danica has been hand-crafting original fabric designs and stamps that form the foundation of each collection. Her extraordinary eye for color and her natural gift for design breathe life and warmth into every yard of fabric we produce.
From Danica's studio, each design travels to the skilled artisan batikers of Bali, Indonesia, where traditional batik methods transform her artwork into something truly spectacular. Using hand-applied wax in the form of delicate dots, flowing lines, and intricate patterns, our artisans carefully resist-dye each fabric through multiple rounds of wax and color application — a meticulous process that produces the deep, layered hues and stunning detail that batik is celebrated for.
