    Great Starter Machine

Posted by Jessica Dean on 8th Jun 2018

I picked out the PE770 after using my sister-in-law's babylock Ellure which is identical but also sees and is 3x more expensive. I still have a brother Project Runway sewing machine that works great so I didn't need the combo machine. Amazon has the best price of anyone for this machine. The first one I ordered made a funny noise and then began to eat my thread but Amazon made the return process extremely easy and even sent my new machine with free expedited shipping. Amazon customer service was fabulous! The machine itself is great, very user friendly interface and the 5x7 working area is a nice size. It stitches slower than the babylock Ellure and the screen is a little small and it's hard to tell what the design looks like and there really aren't any editing capabilities so a good lettering/digitizing program is a must. All in all this is a great buy for the money and I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a starter embroidery machine.

    LOVE

Posted by Maria Mazza on 8th Jun 2018

Absolutely love this machine. It's definitely the best you can buy for the price. Makes nice, even stitches and is super easy to use. The fact that you can use a usb drive with it makes it totally worth it. There are a few sites that offer free embroidery designs so you can get started on the cheap while you gain experience. ON top of that, because its a popular machine, there are many youtube videos available that can show you what this machine can really do. Definitely recommend this machine who is just starting out in embroidery or even someone who more experienced. It's a solid little machine!

re-thread the bobbin and then everything seemed fine.

Posted by Bella on 8th Jun 2018

So far I have had the bobbin jam once, I was able to fix it and get everything lose. This was a learning experience since I believe I didn't have the fabric tight enough and that's why it got stuck. I had the bobbin thread get wonky a few times too. I was able to stop the stitching, open it up, re-thread the bobbin and then everything seemed fine. Seems the bobbin is a bit temperamental, but nothing that can't be worked out if your patient. I expect bugs and quirks with machines so it's fine by me. I've managed to figure out the basics very quickly and I really like the machine. Seems like a good starter piece and I hope it lasts me a long time.

    Would recommend it to others.

I purchased the SE-400 in September and I liked it so much I decided to purchase the PE770 5x7. I've used it nonstop and it is a good buy for the price. The only negative I've had is that if you have many patterns on your flashdrive it's hard to tell what pattern you've selected on the screen. On the 440 you can hook directly to your computer which I like better because you can see the pattern you have selected to embroidery.

    Works great so far

Posted by Viktoria on 7th Jun 2018

I've tried this a couple of times and so far it works great. I haven't loaded anything from a memory card, but will be doing that. It is very easy to use--thread it, pick the font, attach the hoop and it sews. It was a little difficult at first getting the fabric taut in the hoop, but after a couple of tries it worked well. It doesn't take long to embroider the letters. I would like to have had more font styles, but since I can load them with a memory card, that is not a problem. After I purchased mine, I went to a craft show and saw the same machine being used there. All in all, it is a good value for the money. I was very pleased to find an embroidery website listed in the paperwork. This website offers a free embroidery pattern each month, as well as patterns to be purchased.

    Upgrade

Posted by Angela L. on 7th Jun 2018

I upgraded from the Brother SE400. I love this machine. While it doesn't sew like my previous Brother, the larger space makes it possible to embroider bigger designs. I have had a problem snapping the hoop into place at times. It takes practice but it can get to be pretty frustrating taking it off and putting it back on in the middle of a design when the bobbin thread needs changed. I often have to move the embroidery arm back to it's starting point in order to get the hoop to snap. This is a great deal for the price and I'm sure I'll upgrade to an even better machine in the future. I love Brother brand and will continue to buy their machines.

... to do embroidery and applique with precision at a great price. This is the perfect starter machine for ...

Posted by Steph Moore on 7th Jun 2018

I have owned 3 of these machines and I can not speak highly enough of their ability to do embroidery and applique with precision at a great price. This is the perfect starter machine for someone looking to get into embroidery. With a 5x7 hoop capability it provides expansive embroidery options. It is easy to use directly out of the box when you have the correct embroidery essentials to begin. The LCD display is clear and the thumb drive to load designs is wonderful as it provides the ability to be mobile and unconnected to your PC unlike competitor models. It is a great buy and a true workhorse machine!

    I'm in love!

Posted by Cathy Edgington on 7th Jun 2018

I am loving this machine! I had a singer embroidery machine that never did work, not even straight out of the box! But, this one, WOW! It is a little tricky to thread the needle, but I'm getting the hang of it. Nice, clean stitches, and no fubars. Follow the steps, get beautiful results! I've had this almost a week and been watching UTUBE a bit to learn the basics, taking what I learn to the machine and it's pretty awesome! Priced well below other machines (yep, even that Singer debacle!) and giving me my money's worth so far. After all, I bought it to have some fun and I can say that I honestly am. Doing a lot of designs to learn what to do. Made a diaper cover with a cute design on the back, so cute I put one on the front. And of course, Amazon has all the things you need to get you equipped with thread and stabilizer, so you don't have to chase all over if you live out in stix!

I would recommend this machine to any new beginner

Posted by Regina H. on 7th Jun 2018

I would recommend this machine to any new beginner. It's easy to use. The only problem I have is that sometimes it's hard to get the hoop on. I've found through watching YouTube tutorials that it's a flaw with all of them. Don't let the is stop you though bc it's not a big deal. You will need to purchase software if you plan on using the USB capabilities. I recommend sew what pro. It's not too expensive and is very easy to use.
