    Great machine

Posted by Dee Parrish on 5th Jun 2018

I love this machine! It works great and you can buy separate hoops to upgrade the hoop size. This machine has a decent sized display and has a lot of designs already loaded on the machine. It's a great machineat a great price for a beginner or novice.

Having never used an embroidery machine before I found it very easy to learn how to use

Posted by Laura on 5th Jun 2018

I have used this machine several times now. Having never used an embroidery machine before I found it very easy to learn how to use, and now I'm able to do anything I need to with it. I wish it had a larger embroidery area but it certainly does what I need it too and I have was found ways around the limited area (It just takes a bit more time). I'm very glad I bought it, I didn't think it over much and worried that might come back to bite me but I live in Canada and brother doesn't sell it here, it would have cost a lot more to get it or any other machine, since I was going to visit a friend I anyway I just did it, thankfully I have no regrets. Overall I think this is a great machine and definitely worth a buy for someone looking to get into embroidery.

    ABSOLUTELY love this machine

Posted by Stacie M. on 4th Jun 2018

ABSOLUTELY love this machine. Do your homework first! This is a learn as you go machine. I bought this machine to monogram some things for my daughter and people starting asking me for other things. This monogramming exploded over night and this machine has delivered. I have had to take in to be repaired after 6 months. It cost be 100.00, it was "knocking" really bad and breaking thread easily. The lady fixed it said it needed to be oiled and adjusted. After she fixed it has ran like a dream. They tried to take me into another machine that sewed faster and more expensive bc she thought i was using my machine too much in a short amount of time. I love monogramming! This machine does just what i want it too. I love the options of 5x7, 4x4 and 2x2 hooping. I have never needed anything bigger!

    4 or 5 Stars??

    Posted by P.R.A. on 4th Jun 2018

A little background, I have done some industrial sewing in the past but don't really like sewing clothes on "home" machines. The machines are way to fussy and the material is usually too thin and I end up with bad results. Probably that I just don't know what I am doing. But I wanted to try embroidery. The PE770 got good reviews and seemed like a good entry machine to start with. There is no way I would want to start off with spending thousands on an embroidery machine having never used one before. My initial use was to make some shirt with logos on them and maybe expand later. In the box there isn't much. I had the machine out and setup in minutes. Threading is very easy, you just follow the numbers. The bobbin is easy to wind and then put in. The machine even threads the needle itself. Putting the hoop on the machine seemed simple enough but it is a bit hard to snap into place. Seems like too much force is needed. In no time I was embroidering using the preloaded images. The preloaded images looked pretty good, almost better than I expected and was simple enough to do. But my objective was to make some logos. I took an existing logo and realized I needed to convert it to a .pes file. I ended up using the free trial of SewArt. It was an easy program to use but the results did not look good at all. This is where I started learning more about digitizing and whats involved in accomplishing truly converting an existing image to an embroidery file. I wasn't about to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on digitizing software plus learn the art of using it so I had someone online do it for me for under $20. He took my file and did the correct digitizing and send it back to me within hours. The results were a thousand times better than SewArt. So over all so far I like the machine but it has made a few little mistakes in sewing, mainly after changing the color and at times pulling the fabric too much when sewing which I think prevents it from getting 5 stars. Also the LCD screen isn't the best for viewing what is to be sewn but I guess that is why this machine is on the cheaper side. If you are new to this like I am I think the PE770 is a good compromise on a quality machine vs. cost. I would also recommend watching some of the YouTube videos on this machine (if you can stay awake) and know you have to make additional purchases in embroidery files, digitizing, and thread!

brother pe 770 5 inch x 7 inch embroidery only machine

Posted by teenie on 4th Jun 2018

I am giving this a 5 star but not sold on 5 stars. I like this machine and it works well . I find this is easy to use and it does a nice job. I am not a total happy camper with only being able to put 200 designs on a flash stick. I find this to be some what of a pain for me to keep clearing the flash stick and putting on new one. I wish this had the same set up as the brother se 400 and use the computer to put them in as this is so much easier and less time consuming. I have also found that if you run out of bobbin thread and need to take off the hoop it was a big issue to get the hoop back on. I found that if I put the hoop on closer to me and then the other end that it does work. I was having a big issue to getting it back in place and got frustrated with this. I am happy with how well it works and it is nice and quiet but a little on the heavy side (maybe bulky is the word). I would recommend this if one is wanting to do larger than 4 x 4 designs.

    Simply a great personal machine

    Posted by snack31 on 4th Jun 2018

Never having done machine embroidery before, I am finding that this machine is teaching me a fascinating hobby. I love it. I gave four stars because it is great but not perfect (perfect starts at $4,000). Also has four stars because Brother could have done a better job with their manual like explaining what could be done rather than providing such simple instructions (and the LCD screen is almost useless, but nice). A very good starter machine but I can see outgrowing it in a year.

brother PE 770 computerized Embroidery machine with USB port

Posted by Sandy on 4th Jun 2018

For those trying to decide brother has made it easy and Amazon has the right price ! Ready for embroidery right out of the box with easy threading and on screen instructions. The pre programmed patterns are great for monogramming and embroidery designs. Some reviews have complained about puckered and bobbin thread on top. Watch some YouTube videos with people proudly showing off their work and eager to show you how easy it is to do. Patience if something goes wrong , you did something wrong. Brother has made a user friendly machine. I recommend testing on the same fabric before final embroidery. With the touch of a button you can embroider in minutes what use to take hours or weeks to do by hand. Tips Stabilizer - very important. Different types for different fabrics. Wrong stabilizer or loose hooping will cause puckered stitches. If bobbin thread is on top of design, your bobbin thread was incorrectly wind , or running out. Rewind If loose stitch is on top, your spool cap needs adjusted tighter. I do not adjust thread or bobbin tension for owner operator failure. When embroidering with multiple colors of thread, use the same brand and type ( cotton , polyester ) for each thread change. Changing thread types could cause loose or uneven stitches. USB port : easy to download and use , with additional designs you can buy. Cons : the screen is small and gets distorted when sizing, but sews the right size. Overall a very impressive machine ! With endless designs you can buy. Thank you Amazon for selling a great product at a great price !

    Love it but quirky!

    Posted by booklover2 on 1st Jun 2018

I love this machine. It is feisty and has some quirks but it is a great machine. It needs a thread stand and sewer's aid for some types of thread but will put out some very pretty embroidery. You really have to get to know your machine but once you do, it is great!
