A decent product at a good price.

Let me just say, the FIRST thing you should do is read the instruction manual with the thing. It is finicky, has quirks, but if you read, the manual addresses most of them. To put this in perspective, my wife used the thing for 8 months with the bobbin threaded imperfectly. I read the manual, fixed it and the result was a dramatic increase in embroidery quality. We use enbird with it and have no problems. We dont put the plastic discs in front of our thread and we also make sure there is no residue or anything on the thread casing. This has fixed 90% of our thread breaking issues and very rarely do we have to rethread during an embroidery. Even with the problems we had, I would suggest this machine at this price point.

    Great Machine :)

I have a Brothers 4x4 machine, but it just wasn't big enough for the embroidery I wanted to do... I switched to this 5x7 machine and I love the difference. I am still learning the basics of embroidery, but so far I am impressed by this machine and the size it can embroider. Brothers makes great machines, you really can't go wrong with either machine, it really is primarily about what you want to sew that makes the difference in the end run; wish I had considered this one 1st before purchasing the smaller 4x4 machine... I believe it's a automatic want to move up in size as you start discovering what you can do with embroidery!

    Marvelous machine!!!

This is a great machine for the price, easy to use and does gorgeous embroidery. The display, which shows the design you're working on is not very clear. Designs you download and put on a thumb drive look like black blob and each color also shows as a black, not very distinct shape. It helps to PRINT a copy of the design AND the color chart each time you download one and keep it in a notebook.. Also keep track of which designs are on which thumb drive because scrolling through them is not easy.. That said, I am still delighted with the quality of this machine and with a little careful record keeping, I can have hundreds of designs ready to use in a minute. Well worth the price and the little extra fuss

With a little research, absolutely no problems. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!

I could not be happier with this machine! I have to say I am Most pleased with Amazon, too; I got this the day after I ordered it!!! At first I was more than a little intimidated. For the first two days of ownership, I just read and re-read the manuals, wanting to make sure nothing went wrong. Then I ran into some trouble. My upper thread kept breaking. I researched it online, and found that if you don't use the spool cap that comes with it, this often solves the problem. I also came back to Amazon and purchased the recommended Brother iron-on stabilizer, just in case the glue in the spray glue-on stabilizer that I had been using was making it sticky in there or something. Now the machine is perfection!!! I just ordered the Precious Moments CD for some more patterns. I can't believe how reasonable the price was! Again, the machine works perfectly if you just follow the instructions about stabilizer and also don't use the spool cap. You will be pleased with the features and versatility of it.

    Great machine, steep learning curves.

Posted by niente on 28th May 2018

When I decided I wanted an embroidery machine, this seemed like the best available at the bottom end of the market. Based on some of the reviews about the learning curve for using it, I set aside a lot of time for the initial set-up and test runs. I found that youtube tutorials were more useful for this part of the process than the instruction manual - which is fine but not especially detailed. I did have trouble with the top thread getting tangle and messy, and a quick search online determined this to be a bobbin tension issue. Easy to fix, not a fix mentioned in the manual's troubleshooting pages. The internet and the lovely people who post tutorials are your friend. I could see that it would be easy to get frustrated if you expect production quality out of the box - it definitely rewards patience and testing - plan to waste some materials initially until you know the machine. What I wish I had known before I bought it: as a complete machine embroidery novice I had to buy stabilizer, specific embroidery thread, and now a rack to put the thread on. It all seems obvious in retrospect, but not that obvious when buying - people mentioned needing to use good thread like gutterman - well, I've got lots of that, but it's all the wrong weight. So on top of the machine cost, budget for thread - the more colours in a good brand the better. Read amazon reviews to choose what "a good brand" of thread means to you. I also wish I'd known that the machine wants a pretty small sized thumb drive. It's doing okay with 16 gigs, but wouldn't read anything much larger than that. Also the thumb drive needs to be formatted and have nothing but the patterns you want to load, in the top level directory - no folder structure. And if you're like me and think "Oh, it uses a .pes file type - wonder if I can just convert graphics I made to that format?" that's a whole other level of software expense. But there are a lot of designs available online to buy while you're pondering just how much of your life you're going to dedicate to embellishing things with wildly original designs.

    Love it

Posted by Sharon on 28th May 2018

I have owned two other embroidery/sewing machines and I will say this is the best I'v had. At first I was a little hesitant because of the bad luck I had with my other machines, but I was hoping that maybe just a embroidery machine would be better. And I am not disappointed at all. I have had no thread breakage, no jamming of the bobbin case or bad sewing, it is so nice to be able to pick out a pattern and just get the thread I need and do my embroidery. I am enjoying it so much I am looking for things to embroider and I feel so good after I finish because it looks so nice. I also like the 5x7 hoop it a perfect size for the sizes I make. You won't be disappointed in this machine.

    Great product

First time embroiderer with limited sewing experience: the machine is very user friendly and even though there is a learning curve it was easy to pick up on. Recommend you watch YouTube videos and read the instruction manual as well before using, and while using the first few times. I'm more than impressed and now obsessed with doing appliques!
