    Awesome !!!

Posted by Cynthia on 26th May 2018

I am a first time sewing machine user. I figured this machine out as soon as I took it out of the box. Easy instructions. Only issue I had was the pes file from the USB. Make sure USB is formatted to FAT32(on your pc) or your machine will not recognize the file. After that hiccup everything was smooth sailing. Love love love this machine embroidery will be my new addiction lol

Replaced an archaic ($$$)Bernina with this. Love this!

Posted by L. Lawson on 26th May 2018

I had a Bernina ARtista that was really old school in my opinion that I was embroidering on. Yes, I use to be a Bernina snob. I was one of those the quilting community that felt like you had to have a Bernina or another $$$ pricey machine for it to be any good. Well I bought my second Bernina 10 years ago($$$) and I have to say that the technology in most any other brand is just about as good today if not better. This little Brother PE770 proves my point. I don't do a lot of embroidery, but in the short time I've had this machine, I haven't so much as had one thread break or any other issue with this machine. All I have to do is load a design from my computer onto a flash drive and then stick it in the machine. It's not fancy, but sews out perfectly every time. I am in a business that puts out 200 - 250 quilts per year and I occasionally personal these quilts with names. What use to take me 1/2 hour, now only takes me about 10 minutes. Time is money for me, so this little $600 machine was well worth it. I sold my Bernina and replaced it with this brother embroidery machine and a $149 Singer sewing machine that does 1400 stitches per minute. I'm done with fancy sewing machines just so I can look good going to a class lol...

    Wonderful machine so far!!

Posted by Catie on 26th May 2018

I've only gotten to use this a couple times so far, but it's been wonderful. I'm new to machine embroidery, but not at all new to sewing or embroidery itself (though I'm not very good at hand embroidery...), as I've been sewing and designing things since I was about 5. Either way, I labored for a few weeks over which machine to pick. For one, I know the Brother brand has always been wonderful to me, as I have two Brother sewing machines as well as a serger. But then it was about size, would I REALLY need a 5x7 space for designs? After browsing Urban Threads and learning more about embroidery machines and designs, I decided that yes, I do really need the larger space. And the ability to get even larger hoops also convinced me on which machine I would get I'll update again after I've used the machine more!

EXCELLENT machine for the money. Best value available...period.

Posted by Marcus on 26th May 2018

I've used various machines over the years from home to commercial and while this lower end machine won't satisfy the high volume crowd, it will definitely suite the home user. When it comes to embroidery machines 2 things count the most. 1. Speed - stitches per minute - the faster the more expensive 2. Max hoop size - the larger the available hoop capability the more expensive Secondary to that are handy features but are not must haves: 1. Automatic jump stitch cut 2. Needle auto threading Beyond these things, it's mostly fluff. Here is why this machine is so good: 1. Stitches per minute is 650 (averages about 450). For the typical 5,000 to 7,000 stitch design this is about 15 minutes. To get the next step up in ANY machine brand is 800 SPM, a minimum price tag of $1,200 with same other features. 2. Max hoop size of 7 X 5 but can do 12 x 5 with multiple position hoop feature. This is a decent size hoop that will catch 80% of what most people do. To get the next largest capacity in any brand is 10 x 6 which has a minimum price tag of $1,500 with same other features. 3. It has most of the capabilities of the more expensive machines that are actually important Stitch count position Design rotation Can take a USB stick or connect directly to the computer Upper thread tension adjustment through the touch screen interface Design outline preview (traces the outline of the design on the hoop to how it will sit) Best needle auto threader I have ever seen I'm going to stop with that because as a semi-professional operator these are the primary things that determine functionality. Built in designs and stitches are pretty much useless to me so I can't evaluate that. As for quality of stitch, it's as good as any home machine I've seen. It did take a little time to set the bobbin tension as it was too loose from the factory. Once I got it set, it's delivered flawlessly. No birds nests and no broken upper thread. I'll also say that this machine is one of the quietest I've used, maybe because it's only humming along at 650 SPM but it's very quiet. Bottom line, if you are looking for a second home machine or are just getting started you absolutely can not go wrong with this machine. The only negative thing I have to say about it is how the hoops connect. Higher end machines slide the hoop into the locking mechanism. This one (and the next model up) require you to pull back a tension clip and push the hoop down onto 2 protruding brackets. Nothing wrong with this in and of itself but it makes for awkward hoop attachment and removal. ***EDIT*** Initially I stated that "...because the hoop was such a tight fit, you really have to press down and because the table arm only has a single connection to the bar, the force causes it to bend temporarily until you get it pressed on." This is not correct. It turns out it was a defective hoop because all the others slip on and off the bracket with absolutely no effort at all (even though it's still awkward). I wanted to correct this because if you have to use any force at all (other than to pull the retainer clip back) you have a defective hoop and should have it replaced. I deducted 1 star for this initially but because it was a defective hoop, I am revising the review to 4.5 stars. Half star off still because of the way the hoops attach. The bottom line is that this is an EXCELLENT machine for the money. It stitches very well and if it doesn't then a minor lower or upper thread adjustment is all that's needed. Highly recommend this product.

SEW happy with my embroider machine :-)

Posted by bonnie on 26th May 2018

My first embroider machine is a Brother and I absolutely LOVE it, but I wanted a larger machine to be able to do larger designs. I decided that I would definitely stick with Brother machines as I also have a Brother Sewing machine and LOVE it!! After receiving this machine, I took it or of the box and immediately had to try it out....and I sure was NOT disappointed!! The manual is easy to follow and understand and addresses just about every issue that you might come to. I also can download many free brother embroider designs on line. I was going to sell my smaller one, but I decided I am keeping both :-) if there was one con it would be that the hoops of the smaller and larger brother machines cannot interchange. ...they all connect to the machine differently :-/ I have both machines with the different sized hoops so that didn't bother me as it might bother others. I would recommend this machine with anyone who loves to embroider large designs, but would recommend to buy different sizea of hoops that are meant for this machine. HAPPY SEWING AND EMBROIDERING EVERYONE :-D

    Brother PE770 Embroidery Machine

Posted by Suzanne MD on 26th May 2018

Love my Brother! I really wanted to try embroidery but couldn't afford to spend oodles of money on a machiine. Found a great deal on Amazon for this machine and took the plunge. While it doesn't have a fancy screen like the higher-end machines do, it does have a lot of the same features as the more expensive machines. If you want to try embroidery but don't want to spend thousands of dollars, I highly recommend this machine. You will have fun!

    Great Little Machine

Posted by Allyson J. on 24th May 2018

I love everything about this machine. If you're debating between this and the PE-770D (like I was), I would suggest getting this one. Unless you'll use Disney fonts and characters on a daily basis, this one does everything exactly the same. Plus, you can always buy the Disney fonts and character files separately at a much more affordable price. The machine comes with a power cord, a 5x7 hoop, 1 spool of bobbin thread (90 wt), 4 empty bobbins, a little tool kit, 4 replacement needles (three size 11 and one size 14), instruction manuals and a plastic dust cover. I have already broken all of my needles (beginner status, clearly) so if you're just starting out, I would suggest purchasing a few extra needles (size 11). It's extremely easy to use. I did have a little trouble understanding the instruction manual when it came to threading the machine, but there are several helpful videos on YouTube and after I watched those, I can do it in about 10 seconds. Plus they give you a lot of other tips and tricks that make the entire process much easier. It does all of the monogramming I could ever dream of (oversized crewneck sweatshirts, hats, pocket tees, etc.) and even does applique, which I am still trying to master. Overall I love this machine and I am so glad I purchased it.

    Great beginners machine.

Posted by Natalie Marshall on 24th May 2018

I've never owned an embroidery machine before. This was the perfect beginners piece. I actually accidentally took apart the machine part surrounding the needle thinking I needed to do that to change out the needle after a sitch went wrong and the needle became a fishhook during a stitch.... I put it back together using pictures instead of taking it into the shop. Then watched a youtube video on how to change a needle in the machine. Which I should have done in the first place!!! (I've never had to change a needle in my sewing machine so I had no idea what i was even getting myself into and I thought i could just do it on my own????) Throughout the few days I gave up on machine is when I started to use my sewing machine a buttload then broke the needle to that. I went to my older sister/grandmother who helped me with that. Afterwards is when I went home and fixed up my machine and got it working again. LOL. Even before all that, it has always acted up. The white circle to keep the thread in place using catches the head, spins it around the bobbin holder and ties it. Then the machine gets all jammed up. Also, I never know if DST or PES is going to work. Other than it being a little butthead sometimes, it's a nice machine for what I need at the moment.

    Love my new embroidery machine!

Posted by Deb on 24th May 2018

I researched different machines. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money for my first machine. I saw the machine in person at a sewing center that had many models. I decided on the Brother PE770. By purchasing it here on Amazon, I saved over $600.00!! That's right! It was $1,170 before the tax at the sewing center. I paid $60 to the sewing center for a class on how to use my new machine.(they would have been free if I had bought my machine there)I learned info on different stablizers, needles and a little on my machine. Actually, when my machine arrived I jumped right in and started using it with no problems! I had used my new embroidery machine for 6 days before I had taken that class and I had already done great on my own. I had already embroidered a dozen or more items. The Brother PE770 is easy and great. The only trouble I had was with some of the cheaper threads ($1 a piece) I had purchased on-line. They would sometimes break and get caught around the spindle. My husband suggested I turn the "disk" (that holds the spool) backwards. It worked! The less space you have between the spool and the disk the better. I still keep the lid (where the spool is) open so I can keep and eye on the thread. I did not have to change the tension as of yet. Since the expensive spools ($5.00 a piece) worked just fine, I didn't want to mess with the tension. Also I saw somewhere that you could use those little mesh "thread nets" to help with thread problems. It lightly keeps the thread in place. I purchased designs on line and had no problems uploading them onto a "flash drive" and using them. I will tell you that for some reason the machine does not give the correct thread colors on the screen. It does for the designs that come already in the machine but not the ones you purchase. However, when you purchase designs from a good source, that company will let you download or print your color change sheet. There you will see which color comes next and which area the machine embroiders next. All in all, I love my machine! Practice your designs on pieces of fabrics before you put them on something important. Sometimes the designs do not come out correct which has nothing to do with your machine. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine! BTW, I am so happy I purchased the machine with the 5 X 7 hoop! I purchased the four hoops here on Amazon and they work great! Keep in mind your embroidery area is still only 5 X 7 but you don't have to re-hoop to do another design. And the smaller ones are great because you don't waste stabilizer if you are only embroidering a small design. Hope my review is helpful. I know I appreciated the reviews here on Amazon.
