Holds more thread!
When I learned of these bobbins, I thought what a silly product. Ha! I LOVE them. No more time wasted winding bobbins, they hold more than they would if I did them, and I can change out a bobbin and be on my way again in seconds. I do a lot of sewing with white thread, and machine embroidery, really love them.

my latest indulgence.
I like to indulge myself every now and then, chocolate eclairs instead of healthy fruit salad for dessert. Hideously expensive bubble bath. A double gin-and-tonic reward for finishing the quilt binding. And now (drumroll, please) prewound bobbins. they're the right weight for both piecing and free-motion quilting with my Janome. They are smoothly wound and seem to eliminate bobbin tension issues. They carry more thread than home-wound bobbins and last three to four times as long. They are fairly cheap. Thread doesn't break, jam or throw lint. If only they could sing along as i sew, they would be perfect.

I love these! They fit my Janome MemoryCraft 9700 perfectly. The thread is fully wound on the bobbin and my only problem was finding the end of the thread! But that is easily solved by running my fingernail across the top of the wound thread and the end pops right out. I have not tried to use the empty bobbins yet to wind my own thread, but don't see any reason why they won't work. This may seem a lazy way out to buy the pre-wound bobbins, but it is worth it to me to have a bobbin ready when I am ready to sew or embroider. I'll buy them again and again!
