Before I bought this product, I had never used or owned a sewing machine. Before deciding on what to buy, I spoke with several more experienced sewers who recommended certain brands and gave me a range of prices to ensure that I was getting a machine of good quality. I had heard good things about Janome products and this machine had gotten really good reviews. It was a less expensive than I was told to buy from people who know what they're talking about, but I was so thrilled to find that it works really well. The instructions were relatively easy to follow and I was able to sew through several layers of fabric. Very pleased with this machine!

This machine is very effective for the low price point! It also came with a 30 year warranty. Not all Amazon sellers are authorized dealers though, so make sure you call Janome before purchasing the machine to make sure your warranty will be valid.
