Wife LOVES it. Plenty of options and power. The only problems she has ever had was because she was trying to go through way too much fabric at a time.

Finally a machine that I can use!
I am a beginner at sewing, and this is my second sewing machine. The first one (from a big box store) just frustrated the heck out of me, as I could never get it working for long. This one, though not fancy, is simple to thread, the bobbin feeder is apparently idiot proof, and I sew straight lines. It's worked to make a fleece coat for a dog, emergency Elf on the Shelf clothes out of felt (when said dog busted the Elf magic by eating the clothes off of poor Jingles), and quick chaptstick holders out of basic cotton. I'm happy, I can sew stuff, it works. The other brand machine is going to the county dump.

I have only stitched up two small things with the machine since receiving it. The manual was a easy to read through to learn all the features and how to operate them.

Janome 2212
This is a great basic machine. It has all the stiches I will need. Easy to set up and thread. A perfect machine for anyone who needs a good machine! I didn't want the computerized machines and this is perfect for me. It comes with a set of needles and a few presser feet. Does not come with a walking foot, which I was hoping it would. It's a low shank machine with snap on presser feet---so finding feet that fit should not be a problem. I like the vertical bobbin too. I don't like the cheap plastic of some machines. It does everything I was hoping for!

Great First Machine
This is my first sewing machine and I love it so far. I've had it almost a month now, and have completed several small piecing and quilting projects (baby blanket and throw size). If you're looking for additional feet I recommend the "15 pc Sewing Machine Presser/Walking Feet Kit" from Amazon which includes a walking foot and a 1/4" foot for quilting. I didn't care for the darning foot included in the 15 piece set; however, I was able to find another generic low shank foot at a local fabric store that works well so far.
