Very User Friendly for Beginners
I had been using a more upgraded Janome machine that belonged to my mother-in-law. I was originally going to purchase that one because I already knew how to use it. When I saw the $350 price tag, I quickly changed my mind. After looking at less expensive models, I settled on the Janome 2212 because of features and pricing. Hands down, Janome is the easiest and most user friendly machine to use. The directions are easy to read and understand as well as their video tutorials online. I've been using this machine for almost 6 months, and it runs like a dream. I've made toddler duvet covers for my twin boys, throw pillow covers, and hemmed numerous pairs of pants. I'm extremely pleased with the Janome 2212.

Great basic beginner machine!
Just got it and immediately using it. I'm giving 5 stars for what it is, an inexpensive, lightweight sewing machine. I'm a quilter and I use a Bernina 560. I want a lighter machine for traveling. This one is working great right out of the box. It's very light, which is a good thing for a traveling quilter. I wouldn't even try to sew denim or anything heavy on this machine. Lightweight means plastic insides that won't hold up to heavy projects. Even with quilting, I could hit a pin just right and have a 10-lb inflatable boat anchor. But, I like this machine. The stitch is great, no tension issues, no jamming, speed is fine, no complaints. I'll try it out for awhile and get one for my daughter if it holds up. I'll try to update this review too.

Replaced one that wasn't working and no repairman close to help.
Just very happy to have a machine that holds it's stitch and the tension doesn't get messed up. I was making a quilt (machine sewed, not hand sewed) and had suffered a long 3 weeks with a machine that wouldn't fix. I'm happy. Oh and I finished2 quilts. Thanks so much, Bonnie Solomon

Great Machine
I haven't sewn alot on this machine yet, just a few times. I do like the stitching and it sews very smoothly. I am impressed and that is not easy to do as I have had many sewing machines in the past.
