Nice simple machine
I haven't had the chance to do much with this yet, as I bought it for my son. He was able to get it started on his own (10 yr old) and enjoys working with it. So far, we're impressed.

Great First Machine
This is my first sewing machine and I love it so far. I've had it almost a month now, and have completed several small piecing and quilting projects (baby blanket and throw size). If you're looking for additional feet I recommend the "15 pc Sewing Machine Presser/Walking Feet Kit" from Amazon which includes a walking foot and a 1/4" foot for quilting. I didn't care for the darning foot included in the 15 piece set; however, I was able to find another generic low shank foot at a local fabric store that works well so far.

So far so great!
I just lost my 30-year-old Singer last year and needed a machine to make a costume for my daughter. I don't need the bells and whistles but this one has quite a few. I'm not used to the front loading bobbin, but as I use it more, I get better at it. The machine handled several layers of strange costume fabric well and I had no problem with changing stitch lengths when needed. I think this may be my next 30-year-old machine.

Killer basic sewing machine
It was a little rough in the beginning due to nuts being loose from shipping. One from the motor mounting, one from the bobbin bumper. I tightened them up and has been purring along ever since. This has sewn everything from polar fleece to heavy suede. Been able to use any thread in it. Yes, it is a basic machine but for ease of use right out of the box, very hard to beat especially for the price and the warranty! When it's time to "upgrade" to a machine with more options I will be considering another Janome

Arrived with the "feed dog" not working
I am new to sewing but learned quickly how to use this machine. However, it would take me some time before I realized it had not been working properly. The "feed dog" was not working at all. The manufacturing of this part is not right and now must return the item.
