I am assuming this machine was fine as I have not heard any comments about it
This was a gift to my 3 granddaughters in the State of Indiana and I am in Florida. I am assuming this machine was fine as I have not heard any comments about it. I do not believe they have used it yet. I have owned 4 Janome sewing machines and have been satisfied with all except 2 of them had the reverse button quit and this was unfixable I was informed. Maybe the manufacturer could work on this so it will not occur in other machines. I would not have purchased a Janome if I had not thought it dependable so I have rated it 5 stars.

So Far....So Good
Received machine on time. Easy to set up-but did have problems with getting it to run correctly at first. After taking the bobbin and bobbin casing apart, then removing the needle that it was shipped with-and replaced the needle, pushing it up all the way-the machine worked perfectly. We suspect the needle was not properly inserted when shipped. So far have sewed a quilt together and made café curtains. Love it.

Janome 2212
This is a great basic machine. It has all the stiches I will need. Easy to set up and thread. A perfect machine for anyone who needs a good machine! I didn't want the computerized machines and this is perfect for me. It comes with a set of needles and a few presser feet. Does not come with a walking foot, which I was hoping it would. It's a low shank machine with snap on presser feet---so finding feet that fit should not be a problem. I like the vertical bobbin too. I don't like the cheap plastic of some machines. It does everything I was hoping for!

Great machine.
I've sewed since I was a teenager, now I'm 76 and now I needed a good basic machine for hemming and repairs. This works wonderfully.

Just starting to use...good first impression
Although I'd never heard of this brand, after reading the reviews, I thought, "Why not?" Then, I talked to my friend who is a professional seamstress. She owns three Janome machines. The machine's major features (threading, bobbin-loading, etc.) are like those for my Husky and Singer. I ordered this to use at my winter residence. Perhaps I'll be persuaded to buy another to replace my home machine.

Great starter machine
I bought this last year. Wanted to try it out as i was only a newbie. This is an amazing sewing machine, never has given me trouble, stitches are always neat. Although sometimes i wish it had the width stitch option and some more stitches for mimic overlock.I think i'm going to upgrade soon.

Extraordinary value for a full featured Premium sewing machine!
Impressive. My 14 year old daughter LOVES it! She is extremely intelligent, immediately mastering it's full capabilities, pushing it far beyond them, to an almost abusive degree. Never a hiccup. I can't Recommend it highly enough for a starter machine and even further. Intuitive, easy to operate, many stitches, compatible with a large selection of Janine and 3rd party accessories, surprisingly reasonable price, and highly recommended customer satisfaction.

Great Basic Machine
This is my second Janome. I love it as much as the first which I had for 10 years but had to leave behind when we moved. I like this type of machine because it is so easy to operate and dependable to work. It, like my old one, will sew everything I want to make including quilt tops, clothes and home accessories. I even sewed Sunbrella fabric to make boat awnings with my old one and patched sheets for an aft cabin bed. It's simple to use so I can spend my time sewing rather than reading instructions. It is small enough to be portable if so inclined. It came with multiple feet which are really easy to snap on and off. It's easy to thread, bobbin wind and install. The zipper foot works really well. It is a mechanical machine versus a digital but in my book that means less things to go wrong. This is an excellent machine at the price. It was delivered as promised in good condition.
