    Perfect

Posted by Loren Capsopoulos on 20th Oct 2017

Years ago when I first started sewing, I inherited my mother's old Singer. Very basic. I have since owned another Singer and the last one was a used Futura (which never worked right). So, I decided to go ahead and look for another machine. I did extensive research here on Amazon - reading tons of reviews. This Janome model had some awesome reviews, so I took a chance. The price was low enough for me to afford and I waited anxiously for it to arrive (which did not take long). Can I say I am in love?? This is the easiest, most pleasant machine to operate. And it runs smoothly, easy to set up, and a total pleasure to use. I am not a professional, nor am I really much beyond basic, but I do frequently make home items and maybe a skirt or top. I just wish I had more time to spend with my new machine. I highly recommend it to anyone needing a basic, easy to operate sewing machine. I am sure I will get many years of use out of it.

I returned the Janome 2212 immediately. Thank you Amazon ...

I returned the Janome 2212 immediately. Thank you Amazon for the quick refund. The problem was the feed dog was not set properly so the fabric would not advance. It should be a simple adjustment but no live person could be reached at the Janome call number. I bought another Janome at an independent dealer where my questions will be answered directly. I would rate the Janome help a Minus star.

Everything You Need for Basic Sewing

Posted by MaryLou S. on 17th Oct 2017

30 years ago I sewed my own clothing and costumes for a local theater group. Life intervened. Now I'm getting back into dressmaking. This machine is exactly what I need: it has all the basic stitches, easy to read and understand manual, very responsive foot pedal, and ability to sew both light and heavy fabric.

A little noisy, but does what I need it to do.

    Beautiful machine!

Read the reviews for the machine, which convinced me that this would be the machine for my daughter, she is just learning to sew. Wonderful features and a machine she will have for many years to come. I bought with the bundle so she would have extra bobbins, etc...

Ok, I am not a "sewer" but I came from a sewing family. I have never owned a sewing machine.. But the idea of how seemed easy if I just had the machine to do what I had always seen "mom and grandma do" .. Well out of the box without touching the manual--I threaded the machine and wound a bobbin with ease.....It sewed perfect on a couple test peices of tshirt material so on to the 1st project.-- I tried this thing out and first impressions are great. It was perfect sewing through some pretty tough old 60's tie quilts that needed patched at a couple areas there were 6 or more layers and it seemed fine with the thickness. Other than that repair...I will only use this machine--to fix the occasional tear, tacking pocket corners, buttons, and putting patches on uniforms.. It appears to be a great machine from my eyes..Again, I am not really a sewer to properly evaluate this machine, but from the perpective of a guy who just wants to fix things when they break---I really like this machine---I read many reviews and a comon theme on other machines was always embeded by others that they "wish they had just spent a couple more dollars and bought a Janome" I decided to follow their advise and passed on the "other" machines that were cheaper.---time will tell If that was a good choice. If Amazon allows...I will come back in a few months to report on how the machine works after a few more uses.
