Janome 2212 Sewing Machine Premier Package

This machine is perfect for my specific needs which are basic sewing and mending. Reviews said it would be great for sewing "thickness" but doubt that. Could possibly sew hem on jeans if extremely careful.

Exactly what i wanted a cheap easy to use machine. I'm a beginner and just make pretty easy stuff. Dog coats, pillow cases, curtains, hemming pants ect. No major quilts or anything so it works great for me.

I have sewn for about 65 years and had not known about this machine. Bought one for my granddaughter, and in teaching her how to use it found it to be a really nice machine at a really nice price.

Purchased this machine for my 8 yr old and we have already sewed a couple projects with this however having an instruction manual would have saved us some frustration with the bobbin casing in particular. I think someone with no experience with sewing machines would do better if a manual was included in the purchase or the machine. I couldn't find any how to videos on YouTube. Other than that, once we've figured things out it is working fine.

My teenage granddaughter and I both have Jenome 2212 models. Both machines work very well and are easy to use. When I was searching for a new sewing machine (to finally bring me into the 21st century), I looked for new technology, reliability and standard, but simple, features. The Janome brand filled the bill because of it's excellent reputation - and the price on the 2212 was so right. I've been sewing for 58 years. Over those years I've sewn formal to casual clothing and complicated crafts using either or both my 1947 Singer featherweight and an old Brothers. The Brothers machine had been giving me problems for way too long and I finally decided it was time for an upgrade. Now, the Brothers machine is gone and my Janome 2212 allows me easily to continue my sewing tradition. I've had none of the negative experiences that some customers noted. My granddaughter and I made sure to read the instructions thoroughly before using the machine the first time. The book is clearly written and easy to follow.

I cannot get over how amazing this machine is, it's like a dream! I had an old brother that was LOUD and vibrated like crazy no matter what I did! This Janome is quiet for a sewing machine and doesn't vibrate too bad either. THE biggest thing for me was the zigzag stitch, my old machine never would do the zigzag for a full row and it was so frustrating. But the zigzag on this is perfect! I have sewn a ton of things, gone through well over a 1,000 yards of thread and only had the thread break maybe a few times and that was more my fault. I wish I had this machine always, my life is so much simpler and projects that are "quick" ones actually are now! In the past with my old machine I'd say, I'm going to sew this real quick...then like 2 hours later about want to give up. But with my new Janome quick is quick and I am making wonderful things so easily now, seriously in love with this machine, I even hugged it! So if you have had or have the more older style mechanical sewing machines this will be a wonderful upgrade. I know there are high end fancy digital and lots of bells and whistle like machines but I wanted something more old school that just is a good working machine and user friendly and with this I found exactly that and in a price I could afford, it rocks!

I bought this machine because I wanted to learn how to sew. I hadn't touched a sewing machine since freshman year home ec, so my endeavor into the sewing world was quite the learning experience. By chance, a friend of mine had a Janome machine she had received as a gift, which she was kind enough to let me play around with. I liked it enough, and after extensive research, decided on the 2212 model. I must admit, I really love this little machine. As a true beginner, it has done everything I needed it to do. It has mended jeans, sewn through several layers of thinner material, and I even attempted coasters! The 2212 has done all this will flying colors! Additionally, I would like to say that the manual for this bad boy is super amazing and easy to follow. There are LOTS of pictures, with step by step instructions. The manual comes in dual English and Spanish if that is a selling point for you. The only trouble I have had with my machine were purely user error. I didn't load the bobbin properly the first few times, but after I figured it out, I haven't had any issues. I appreciate the ease of use, and the simplicity of the machine. It is just right for my needs as a beginner who is learning. The button-hole foot is easy to use, and straight forward. Spooling a bobbin is also easy and convenient. In my opinion this is an excellent choice for a beginner, or someone who is only planning on doing basic sewing. Once I am more skilled and ready for a new machine, I will definitely stay within the Janome family. And you can't beat a 25 year warranty!

I fought for two hours with my two year old Brother electronic machine to get it to sew right. Searched on Amazon July 4th and came up with the Janome 2212 and ordered it that day.. Used a JC Penney machine for 35 years and it wore out, bought the Brother electronic machine. Hate it as I am an old timer. The new machine came today the 6th of July, read the book through, set it up and I just love it. So easy to thread, etc. Now I feel I can help my granddaughter learn to sew without having machine problems. I love it!

My sewing machine of 25 years finally gave out and I needed a new one. I love this machine. Great for beginners or experts alike. Nothing fancy but definitely has the power and tools to get your sewing projects done. I make curtains, quilts, , baby blankets, etc. and this machine is perfect. Great quality at an even better price.
