Most Impressive
I have had about four sewing machines in my life. My most expensive machine doesn't sound near as smooth and quiet as this new Janome. I bought it for my adult daughter, and I was a little jealous that it wasn't mine when I showed her how to sew for the first time. I wanted a simple, less electronic machine for her to start with. The stitches on this machine are the best ones for any beginner hands-down! We made a skirt with stretchy double knit as our first project. I love this wonder. I know my next machine will be a Janome for myself.

Just finished a 50x60 rag quilt made from two layers quilting cotton with flannel for the batting. And it didn't bulk at all! Loving it!

2212 Great Machine
Love this 2212 sewing machine as soon as i got it I read the book and then tried out all the stitches and feet had fun cant wait to do my quilting had no problems works great also think its made good they are a good company have had another almost 30 yrs from them just wanted one with more stitches. I did order the quilting foot plus a couple more but I ordered Janome ones. Would recommend to others as I think its easy to use read book first then have fun sewing. I make dolls stuffed toys and quilts do a lot of sewing this will do what I want plus more also make clothes plan to use this machine a lot glad I found it. Have fun and good luck with it.

Excellent Machine
I purchased this sewing machine approximately two months ago and have since used it on thick layers of cotton, brocade, minky, knits, and four-way stretch. So far, it's a workhorse. This is my first higher-end machine (I've always used Singers or Brothers) and was a little intimidated by simple things like the front-loading bobbin. However, once you read the manual, it's easy as pie. I haven't had a single tangle or "nest" yet and the machine runs like a charm. My only complaint is that the feed sometimes doesn't like to grab corners, but it will eventually grab on with some careful prodding. That, I can deal with. The machine doesn't have a lot of stitches, but it does have the ones you'll need most (straight, stretch, zigzag, etc...). Not a lot of bells and whistles, but an outstanding deal for the price. Unless you're regularly doing a lot of decorative stitching, this machine should suit your needs just fine.

High quality, easy to use, and nice lookiing machine.
Got this for my wife for Christmas. She likes it very much. Her previous machine was a hopelessly complicated Singer which she finally gave away. She had this new Janome 2212 up and running in a very short time and is now actually looking for items to sew on it! So far, this machine seems perfect to accomplish our basic sewing requirements, and probably sewing tasks much more than basic.
