Quilting Helper
st sewing attachment I've ever bought. If you are going to do even small quilting projects, then this will help! I thought it expensive for my model Brother sewing machine, but I've used it more than enough to justify the cost. It will also let you see in reverse, which helps with quilting.

Seams Legit
When my sewing machine of about 20 years died I had to do a lot of research. I work with a lot of heavy fabrics, and in contrast to that more than my fair share of chiffon. I wanted a machine that could handle the lightest and the heaviest I could throw at it without hiccuping or giving me more grief. I eventually came to this machine because it met every requirement I had: It was not digital (nothing against them, I just don't need 80,000 types of stitches), it was set up much like my old machine, the company stands by their product, and I would be lying if I didn't say the price was very much so a deciding factor. I've had the machine about a week now, and so far it has managed to sew fake leather, chiffon, brocades, broad cloth, and satin backed crepe without a single problem. It's very easy to use (I would recommend this machine for beginners), and above all checked every metaphorical box on my list. Some people say this machine is noisy. I'm not sure I can give too honest a review on this part if only because ANYTHING would be quieter than my old Kenmore. Seriously a motorcycle was quieter. It does however run very smoothly and does not make any alarming noises. If you are looking for an easy to use, versatile machine for a low price: this is your machine. Janome makes a quality product, and I could not ask for any more than that.

I love my Memory Craft
I have a Janome Horizon Memory Craft 8900QCP, but was afraid to travel with it in our 5th wheel. After a few months, I realized I really need my sewing machine, as my alterations were piling up. I love my Memory Craft, so decided a Janome mechanical machine would be most appropriate for traveling around. I am enjoying my 2212. It is lightweight and small but efficient. I even sewed through double webbing onto 2 layers of nylon, after adjusting the needle tension some for the extra duty performance. While it worked, I probably won't put it through such tough challenges in the future. I have been able to accomplish all my projects since I received this machine. The only negative I have is the lever to raise and lower the foot is only accessible with my right hand.... it's located on the right side of the shank. I am left handed, so it's taking some adjustment for me to remember that it's a right handed maneuver.

Really simple and easy to set up and use.
I fought for two hours with my two year old Brother electronic machine to get it to sew right. Searched on Amazon July 4th and came up with the Janome 2212 and ordered it that day.. Used a JC Penney machine for 35 years and it wore out, bought the Brother electronic machine. Hate it as I am an old timer. The new machine came today the 6th of July, read the book through, set it up and I just love it. So easy to thread, etc. Now I feel I can help my granddaughter learn to sew without having machine problems. I love it!

Quality product Great price
My sewing machine of 25 years finally gave out and I needed a new one. I love this machine. Great for beginners or experts alike. Nothing fancy but definitely has the power and tools to get your sewing projects done. I make curtains, quilts, , baby blankets, etc. and this machine is perfect. Great quality at an even better price.

Love my Janome 2212! Great beginner machine!
I bought this machine because I wanted to learn how to sew. I hadn't touched a sewing machine since freshman year home ec, so my endeavor into the sewing world was quite the learning experience. By chance, a friend of mine had a Janome machine she had received as a gift, which she was kind enough to let me play around with. I liked it enough, and after extensive research, decided on the 2212 model. I must admit, I really love this little machine. As a true beginner, it has done everything I needed it to do. It has mended jeans, sewn through several layers of thinner material, and I even attempted coasters! The 2212 has done all this will flying colors! Additionally, I would like to say that the manual for this bad boy is super amazing and easy to follow. There are LOTS of pictures, with step by step instructions. The manual comes in dual English and Spanish if that is a selling point for you. The only trouble I have had with my machine were purely user error. I didn't load the bobbin properly the first few times, but after I figured it out, I haven't had any issues. I appreciate the ease of use, and the simplicity of the machine. It is just right for my needs as a beginner who is learning. The button-hole foot is easy to use, and straight forward. Spooling a bobbin is also easy and convenient. In my opinion this is an excellent choice for a beginner, or someone who is only planning on doing basic sewing. Once I am more skilled and ready for a new machine, I will definitely stay within the Janome family. And you can't beat a 25 year warranty!

best machine you can buy at this price range!!!
Janome is a very trusted name in the sewing machine world, and when I sought out to buy a new machine a few weeks ago I did plenty of research before buying this model. I cannot stress how amazing this machine is, glides through thick layers of fabric with ease, very easy to thread, nice basic stitches and the tension is perfect right out the box. I called a local store to get a price quote on this machine before I bought it online, they told me this model retails for $449 but they had a 'great sale' going on where it was just $249. seriously buying this machine for just $150 is a steal!!!! lifetime warranty if you buy it from an authorized retailer (i did my research and the amazon online seller is authorized so my warranty is valid!) i will recommend this machine to anyone and everyone who wants to get started sewing as this basic machine will be sure to please! :)

Great Basic Machine
Purchased this for my wife's use. She's had some bad experiences with other sewing machines that have too many "bells and whistles" than she needs or wants to use. She loves the Janome 2212 so far. Its simple to use and does the basic sewing tasks well.
