Very good for what it is made to do
Very good for what it is made to do. Works great on soft leather,2 layers but labors 3 with a lining. If you primarily work with leather, try a stronger/industrial machine.

I love this machine! For repairs, quilting, and general sewing. It worked well for light fur trim like rabbit and lynx, but heavy canvas and webbing are too tough for this machine. It's easy to use, and I'm really happy with it.

No bells and whistle,just a great machine.
This is my first Janome,I'm very happy with the quality of this machine. Its a little work horse.It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a digital machine, but what it may lack in the oooo factor it more than Makes up with on beautiful stitches.I was even able to use invisible thread that I had given up on with my Singer.overall a quality machine that hope to have for years to come.

LOVE IT
We do actually love this machine. We had a cheap Singer for a about a year but it constantly was a headache. We finally decided to make an investment into a Janome machine and we are glad we did. The machine is solid when it comes to sewing. We have probably sewn around 100 aprons or other kitchen accessories with it. It never slows down or misses a stitch. Easy to use and maintain.

Has everything I am looking for in a sewing machine
Love the pressure sensor in the presser foot. I have sewn through 12 layers of denim and it never skipped a stitch or broke a needle. It seems to be a real workhorse. Haven't had much time to work with it, but am very pleased with it so far!

Excellent Machine!
So far I've had this machine for over a year and just LOVE it. Especially the automatic threader. I sew almost everyday about 8-10 hours a day and is a very durable machine!
