Amazing machine
This is an amazing machine. Very easy to learn. Threading is not hard, especially if you watch the YouTube videos from Juki on preparing your machine. It pretty much ran perfectly out of the box and I've sewn 6 projects since opening the box on Christmas. I'm a Juki girl at heart, and this machine did not disappoint! One person found this helpful

Easy to thread and sewed just a little
Easy to thread and sewed just a little. Will take a class in the fall. So far I love it and so glad I got it.

This is both my first serger and my first Juki and I absolutely love this thing
This has worked flawlessly since the moment it came out of the box, just press the pedal and go. This is both my first serger and my first Juki and I absolutely love this thing, it's like a tiny little tank. (I also own an old Bernina and industrial Brother.) I have put all sorts of abuses to it, like a half inch of quilting and polyester, but then run some fine chiffon through and it behaves beautifully either way, not to mention very little fussing with the tension. Threading it is not what I would call a good time, but it is definitely figure-out-able, and the manual does a very good job of explaining the different threads. Pay heed when it says "make sure the thread is secure within the tension dial" - it can seem like it's setting in there as for a normal machine, but it really needs to be tightly inside, otherwise Frustration. My 'cheat' is to keep a desired-color all-purpose thread in the left needle, which is easy to switch out, and a neutral color in the right needle and loopers. Lastly, if you are working with knits or any bulky, layered or shifty material, the differential feed (the "-DE" in the model number) makes a big difference.

I love it! Threading it was frightening at first but ...
This is my first serger. I have contemplated one for years but finally took the plunge and purchased this one. I love it! Threading it was frightening at first but I found a youtube video where an experienced professional sewist shows exactly how to thread this particular model. It helped immeasurably and I felt much more confident with it. I purchased this model because I wanted the capability to sew heavier weight fabrics. I've tried fleece with it and it did a great job. I've also sewn light-weight wool and it also did well on it. So far, just a great serger. I'm pleased. It arrived quickly and in great shape. It's a little worrisome to purchase such a machine online but they just weren't offered locally. And it has worked out well so far.

Very nice Serger
I really like the Juki MO 654DE serger. It's a pain to thread (like many sergers) but the stitch quality is great. I would recommend this to anyone who wants good quality but does not want to pay $1000+ for auto/air threading.

Juki is Good
My first serger. I've used it 3 times. Once it misbehaved, but the fault was mine. Improper threading. I dithered over buying the ubiquitous cheaper Brother, but finely settled on this guy and I am quite pleased that I did.

The JUKI is WAYYYYYYYYY better of a machine
I previously owned a brother 1034D and then purchased this. The JUKI is WAYYYYYYYYY better of a machine. Rolled he with ease, serges through bulk, is quieter, and sturdier. If looking for a machine, save up your money and buy this one over the brother.
