An Even Feed/Walking Foot is a moving feed system that holds and moves fabric between the presser foot's upper feed dog and the machine's lower feed dogs to better control difficult fabrics as well as multiple layers of fabric. The Brother SA140 Even Feed / Walking Foot is great for quilting and sewing, especially when matching prints or plaids or fabric drift are relevant concerns. Brother offers several walking feet which differ in the size of the feed dog, shank height, etc. Please check your manual or the machine listings on this website to find the correct walking foot to fit your machine. Walking feet are not for use with reverse or side-to-side sewing. Walking feet are also not for use with certain built-in stitches that require movement of the feed dogs in any direction other than forward.

Wish I knew about these sooner :)
Love it. Wish someone had told me about these about a couple dozen years ago. Great way to baste quilts with ease. Will (maybe) go back with a quilting foot, but really don’t have to! Nice and comfortable. Easy on my neck n shoulders.

Ease of use and installing.
I absolutely love this foot. It's so easy to use. No pinning required when sewing layers together. But I did pin some corners.

Mine has Brother printed on it just like the picture
I hesitated to order this walking foot because of the mixed reviews so I spent the extra money to get the brand name item hoping for the best. Mine came with good directions and had Brother printed right on it. Shipping was fast and I was able to use it for finishing a four-layer flannel weighted blanket. Works like a charm and I'll enjoy using it for my next project. Seems to be a quality item but I'll update if it doesn't last.

Walking foot is fit for the test!
This genuine walking foot arrived in record speed and is a real Brother walking foot. It was about the price I expected to pay which wasn't cheap, but I did not want a knock off. I just used the walking foot today to straight line quilt and it works beautifully. If you need a replacement foot like I did, because I lost the one that came with my Brother 2800D, this one is great!

Perfect for stretchy or slippery fabrics.
This walking foot is perfect for slippery fabrics that do not hold together well with a regular foot. I have used it to sew minky blankets, and it has been a life saver. The fabrics do not stretch or slip and look perfect when I'm done. I will say that my walking foot started to squeak and I broke a couple of needles afterwards. If this happens, just pile it with sewing machine oil and it will work perfectly. I have had no issues with it since. Keep in mind that this foot is not good for reverse stitching or zigzag type stitching. It works wonderfully for straight stitching though.

Works perfectly with my Brother CS6000i
I don't know why I waited so long to buy this. The instructions for attaching it to my machine were clear and easy to follow, and the walking foot works perfectly. I have a Brother CS6000i, and this integrates seamlessly. On my second project the foot started to squeak with every stitch, and I gave it a good cleaning and removed some lint, and the foot went back to its quiet self.
