Spool holders are used to maintain the spool on the horizontal spool pin. Size depends on the spool size diameter. The special model is for a large spool that would not fit on the horizontal spool pin leaving enough room for the standard spool holder to attach properly. This spool holder allows the spool to be held tight to the spool pin without falling off or creating a gap. Use this product with all Elna sewing machines that have the horizontal spool holder.
