1-needle, Top and Bottom-feed, Lockstitch Machine with Double-capacity Hook
With its powerful top and bottom feed mechanism, the machine smoothly feeds a difficult-to-feed material or a multi-layered part of material without pitch errors, achieving consistent seam quality. The Juki DU1181 is an upholstery lover's dream.

Higher lift of the presser foot
The lift of the presser foot, by the knee lifter, is as high as 15mm so as to support processes which require a higher lift of the presser foot, such as piping and tape-attaching.

The maximum stitch length is 9mm
With its stitch length being as large as 9 mm, the machine is applicable to a broader range of sewing processes.

The double-capacity hook is provided as standard
The machine comes with a horizontal-axis double-capacity hook, not only to decrease the frequency of bobbin thread changing, but also to enable sewing work with increased efficiency.

Automatic lubricating mechanism
A pump-unit type automatic lubricating mechanism dramatically improves maintainability. The oil amount in the face plate and hook is adjustable.

The machine achieves low-vibration and low-noise
The machine head is designed to achieve optimum balance, thereby reducing vibration and noise. The machine affords the operator a comfortable working environment.

Excellent operability:

  • The stitch pitch can be adjusted in both the normal and reverse directions.
  • The height and inclination of the feed dog can be adjusted.
  • The amount of the alternating vertical movement of the wlaking foot and presser foot is adjustable in a range from 2 to 5mm according to the height of a multi-layered section of material.
  • Complete with unassembled industrial stand, table top and motor.

Juki Company Warranty

  • 5 Years Mechanical Defects
  • 2 Years Electrical
  • 90 Days Adjustments on Defects in Material or Workmanship

    Good Value Machine

Posted by Heather S. on 26th May 2018

I have owned the Juki du1181n for about 2 years, although I did not buy it on Amazon. The machine came unassembled along with the table, lamp, and motor. It took my boyfriend and I about a week to get it completely set up, as the manual is quite vague about assembly and written in very broken english. I am told, however, that this is usually the case with industrial sewing machines, and does not reflect the quality of this particular model. This machine is a true work-horse, and sews medium to heavy-weight materials easily. I have sewn everything from vinyl to lace on it. In order to switch from heavy to lighter materials you must adjust the position of the take-up lever screw on the front of the machine, so always have a flat-head screwdriver beside your machine! The speed-adjustment dial on the motor (servo) is a great feature; I usually slow down the speed for sewing heavy materials. My machine ran perfectly for the first year and a half, then one day it seized up and nothing would turn on it, such as the handwheel and hook. I had to load up the machine head in my car and drive an hour to an independent repair guy (he would have charged me $130 just to travel to my house!). In short he said the hook assembly was faulty and he replaced it. $320 repair bill. He also replaced the feed dogs with ones that have more "grab", and put a nicer throat plate on it that has seam markings and a wider needle slot. I do not believe that this experience should deter anyone from considering this machine; I think it was just an unlucky fluke in my particular machine. I think this machine is a great buy for anyone who is looking to sew medium to heavy-weight materials and needs a machine that is relatively simple to operate.
