I have never used a serger before and after much research decided to buy this JUKI model and I LOVE it! It's easy to thread and I couldn't be happier with it. It took me a couple of tries to get all of the threading correct but the manual is very detailed and helps you through it. The only downside I have found so far is I wish the eye needles were a bit bigger, they seem pretty small to me. Overall, a great purchase for a serger beginner!

Beginners welcome
Serging is the best way for me to keep my projects clean and without fray, plus it's the faster method because there is a small cutting device under the machine to trim excess fabric. For a beginner and hobbyist sewer, this is a fairly decent starter item. I have made dresses, vests (denim and non denim), repaired old clothing, and sewed cosplay/costume items with this. The reason why this lost a star is because one of the needles is not seeing properly. I followed the directions on threading the machine, but somehow the thread always comes loose. In addition, the knobs/dials for varying the widths of threads, I can't tell if they are working because I see no changes in my serges.

Serging Without Frustration!
I have been sewing for decades and I already own two sergers so I didn't really "need" a new one - but my machine was in the shop for the second time in four months and the "tune-up/repair" bills for both visits was $180.00. My husband asked me, "How much is a new machine?" I said, "Well a new Juki is only about $350, but my machine is much better than a Juki..." He said, "Maybe that's the problem. Maybe you have a Ferrari and you need a pick-up truck.. A Ferrari might be "better" than a pick-up truck, but when you need to move a load, you really need a pick-up truck." I realized that my current sewing projects - mostly the Katwise sweater coats - were more of the heavy-duty variety and perhaps my current brand of serger was just too finicky for the job. I am very happy that I made this purchase. The Juki sews beautifully even through several layers of felted wool. I can just breeze through the seams without any jamming or skipped stitches. I am very very happy with this machine. My repairman is probably wondering where I have been....

I am very happy with my new serger. I found it easy to thread-thanks to the color coding and it is a smooth running machine. The video was extremely helpful and easy to understand. The only thing I didn't receive was an extra blade. I will certainly order more products from your company. Thanks!
