Great value
Great machine, I'm just a learner and vie managed to sew up a few garments already in the past month that vie had it, really quiet, no sliding round, color coded threading system, and nice and fast! Id definitely recommend this machine.

Sturdier than my former Brother serger
For just a little more than I paid for my Brother, this machine is a trooper on heavy materials, even though it states it is for light-to-medium weight fabrics. The knife is very sharp and after a LOT of serging, still cuts through the thickest of sweater fabrics. Amazing machine. The downside is the lack of actual numbers on the knife adjustment and rolled hem 'switch'... the Brother has much better tweaking on their controls. Also: no actual cuff serging without having to open the entire left-side machine housing (which is also necessary to adjust for hem width & knife adjustment.) The Brother was also much better as it has a removable part that allowed for cuff and small area serging. But considering the Juki motor itself and cutting system is very powerful, this makes it Top Dog for me.

good for price
I have many machines, home and industrial, and this one is a nice serger with a nice stitch for the price range, I have bought a few other brands in this price range and they have not faired as well as my Juki's have to some brutal everyday abuse.

Love this machine
I LOVE this machine! I bought it to replace my 30 year old Toyota overlock, and I couldn't be happier. The machine is quiet, easy to thread (for a 4-cone overlock, that is) and sews like a dream. I also have a brand new Singer overlock, which pales in comparison. I always recommend this machine to my Garment Constructions students.

Perfect for novices and experts!
This machine is a work horse. I see more than most people, with a large a variety of fabrics and this machine is amazing. It can handle layers and layers of denim and fleece without skipping a stitch. It can also handle delicate satin and simile fabrics with ease. This is my second serger of the same model. I had the first for over ten years before I decided to replace it. It really is worth every penny.

Great for moderate to heavy use!
Wow, this machine is so wonderful. I have small clothing business where I work mostly with the cotton lycra, rayon lawn and silk chiffon. This serger cleanly and easily powers through my heavier fabrics and my soft and smooth silks. I have experience with lots of sergers and this is by far my favorite. I used to have a Siruba serger. While it was a great machine, it really couldn't handle the amount of use I was putting on it. It was constantly coming unthreaded and I had to adjust the timing a little too regularly. I had to purchase a machine that could handle my work load. For a pop up shop I recently made over 100 cotton lycra crop tops with this machine (using wooly nylon) in a matter of days. My Juki never faltered. I was super impressed. Handles well with poly thread and the stretchy wooly nylon. All around a great machine and good for moderate to heavy use.
