Would reccomend this machine!
I bought this machine because I make memory rag quilts and the layers of fabric are really thick. I like that the presser foot raises xtra high. Very pleased with this machine and would purchase it again and reccomend it to anyone.

I have not sewn a ton of projects with this, but it has worked amazing for what I've done thus far. I've finished a few quilts and did some edging on a blanket. The quality is amazing and it holds the fabric in place with very little effort. This was definitely worth the upgrade from my cheaper brother machine!

Quality, heavy duty, mechanical sewing machine!
Beautiful, heavy-duty machine! This replaces a Janome HD purchased in 1981, still running with a lot of mileage on it...a tribute to this brand's quality! The HD3000 has a nice variety of utility as well as decorative stitches and is mechanical rather than computerized so you really do your own sewing projects! Would recommend this model to anyone who wants a heavy duty mechanical machine.

Better off with a more industrial sewing machine
This gets caught repeatedly when sewing heavy duty fabrics. The lift/ space below the foot is so restricting. Better off with a more industrial sewing machine.

Dream machine!
This machine is wonderful to sew on! After unpacking and looking at the slim, uncluttered lines, I knew that I would be happy with this. Its heavy enough on the table to not move. What a joy to have a large bobbin that holds so much thread. Its quiet and does a beautiful job of sewing with the right tension! One of the features of having a storage place for each foot is really nice, plus being labeled. I'm back to working on quilts and having so much fun, this machine is a joy to use! I didn't want a computer machine and felt this one was just right. Yes, I highly recommend this machine.

Janome HD3000
SewVacDirect provided very fast order processing, I had my new machine in 4 business days. I have only had this machine for a couple days. I have used as many of the features and stitches as I could while getting used to it. So far I love this machine. It goes through 8 layers of heavy canvas like a knife through butter. Very easy to use and switching between stiches a breeze, bobbin winder easy to use and I love that you do not have to unthread the machine to wind a new bobbin. Only thing I do not like and it really is not an issue for me is the light, I am used to a much brighter light on my machines. Overall I think this is a great machine for either a novice or expert sewer.
