    Love my Juki

Posted by kat on 8th Feb 2018

I began quilting about a year ago and bought the juki about 4 months into quilting and what a difference, no more broken threads and jammed bobbin thread, sewing frustration has almost gone if I could just learn not to cut the thread with the footfeed. I would prefer to have the option of not using it to cut but I guess there is not another foot you can buy that does not cut so I just turn it sideways on the floor and that keeps me from cutting the threads when I do not want to and I use the button on the machine for cutting. This machine is a real workhorse and I have been able to make the quilt tops for 10 king size and several throws since May of 2013 I am truly addicted to this machine and would surely recommend to every sewer. If you like to machine quilt large queen or king quilts the harp may be too small but I have mine done on a longarm so not a problem

    Bobbin case problem

Posted by Anthony W. on 8th Feb 2018

I love my Juki, but have 1 problem with the bobbin case jumping out of placement and jamming the needle. Have replaced it about a year ago, and now need to again. I've had it in for service but they can't seem to find anything wrong with it, was just told to tighten the plate over the bobbin super tight. Otherwise, I love the machine and features like the auto thread cutter, the extra motor for winding the bobbin separately, the knee lift, stitch selection, etc.

    Absolutely perfect!

I purchased this machine in California at a brick-and-mortar store since I was down there at a sewing expo. I have had it since October 2013 and absolutely love it! The deal breaker for me was that my new machine HAD to have a knee lift. This one does and wow, what a wonderful thing. This machine was a little tricky to get the tension just the way I like it.....so if you're having trouble, try several brands of thread. There is a setting and a thread it will like. Then it sings like a bird, uh, I mean ....it purrs along endlessly as I sew! Get one. BTW it is a big machine, much bigger than anything I had sewn on before (Empisal, Brother, or several models of Janome....I still have 2 of the Janome mechanical machines as backups). Tons of stitches and feet. Love love love it.

Original was damaged on arrival but replacement was perfect

    Posted by Soldier1986 on 7th Feb 2018

Will order another and try again as we really liked the features but the item was damaged upon arrival. Looks like the needle was jammed in and then overtightened as we had to completely unscrew the needle holder to get the needle out. It was then that we saw that the assembly was completely bent in. Was able to return to Amazon but wish they had an exchange option as we like the machine, just didn't want to pay for repairs on a brand new machine from the factory. The shipping box and internal box were both in good condition. Edit: Got our new one and it's perfect. Less than 1/2 turn to drop the needle and we tested every single feature on it.

    Love this Machine!

Posted by M. Johnson on 7th Feb 2018

This sewing machine is a dream! Solidly built, has so many handy features. My favorite features are the drop in bobbin, automatic needle threader, the foot pedal will cut your thread if you press with your heel, instead of toe! what a time saver! or you can cut the thread by pressing the thread cutting button. The machine is feature rich but also very easy to use and the instruction book is large and easy to follow. However, after watching a few you tube videos (my fave is the Crafty Gemini), I barely needed the manual, this machine is so easy to figure out. It comes with a large extension table. the stiches are even and the machine is very quiet. It can sew through thick material, several layers of denim without a hitch! It made me love sewing again. Its worth every penny. However, if you want to save a buck or two, go for the model 400. its the same machine but you just don't get the extension table and a couple of the extra sewing feet. Go for it, you will love it!
