Juki HZL-DX7 Computerized Sewing and Quilting Machine

If you've been searching for a high-performance, lightweight, and affordable sewing machine, the Juki HZL-DX7 ticks all those boxes and more! Juki has focused their efforts to make a user friendly, efficient, and feature rich sewing machine. This is the perfect machine for any at-home sewer, and is perfect for both intermediate and expert-level sewers.

As one of the higher-end offerings from Juki, the HZL-DX7 has the ability to tackle almost any sewing project. It always produces even and consistent straight stitches and great zigzag stitching. The HZL-DX7 even makes free-motion quilting easier than ever.

The HZL-DX7 produces beautifully even stitches thanks to the Juki “box feed” that is integrated into this machine to ensure consistent and even fabric feeding. The HZL-DX7 even handles thicker fabrics and layered fabrics beautifully because of this unique feeding system. The box feed even allows you to stitch through any type of fabric whether lightweight or heavyweight. It can even create even stitching on stretchy fabrics!

This machine can do more than just simple fabric projects. You can make clothes and quilts using the HZL-DX7. In fact, setting the Juki HZL-DX7 to sew with the presser foot lifted and floating ever so slightly will help ensure professional quality quilts without the need for stitch pulling.

Button holes are easier to create than ever before thanks to Juki's sensor buttonholing system. There are 16 choices of buttonhole types so you can choose which one best suits your project.

The Juki HZL-DX7 comes equipped with a backlit LCD touchscreen display. Using this feature, you can select patterns and stitches with ease. Choose from 287 stitches including alphabetical/numerical fonts!

You can use the HZL-DX7's intuitive button system to control the machine. Some of the features these buttons control are:

  • Reverse stitch
  • Lock stitch
  • Thread trim
  • Needle position
  • Starting and stopping

The machine also comes with an auto-lift presser foot, and you can assign functions to the foot switch/pedal’s heel portion for easy access.

You can adjust the sewing speed on the Juki HZL-DX7 too. The maximum speed is 1050 stitches per minute. If you need to sew on tight corners or be particularly precise on a section of your project, you can use the low-speed or inching sewing function. Your stitches can also be adjusted in length or width with the adjustment dial.

The Juki HZL-DX7 sewing machine comes with 30 accessories, and includes the standard Juki warranty of five years of protection against mechanical part defects, two years' protection against electronic part defects, and 90 days of protection against defects of workmanship or material.

The Juki HZL-DX7 - A feature-rich dream machine!

    Juki DX7 Sewing Machine

Posted by Moira MacAvoy on 8th Feb 2018

This machine was exactly what I was hoping for. I also have a Juki 2200 Mini, which I love, but it's very heavy and only does straight stitch. The DX7 sews a nice, balanced straight stitch, also zig zags and free motion quilts beautifully. It is a sturdy machine, but light enough to take to workshops without straining my back. And I love the presser foot pivot feature for machine applique. My only complaint this that the hand wheel is somewhat difficult to turn, but you can use a button to raise and lower the needle so it's not a big problem.

Juki HZL-DX7 Computerized Sewing and Quilting Machine

Posted by Customer Moe on 10th Feb 2017

I am really impressed with this machine. It is a lot of machine for the value. This is my second Juki. The first was the TL 2010Q both machines are good quality machines. I have owned top line Janome machines (11000/9000) and currently the Brother Dream Machine. The Juki DX7 would be a great machine for full time home sewing use with a lot of fun extras. Being a quilter I plan to use it for classes and a backup machine. The decorator stitches are quality and look as nice as my Brother Dream Machine. The machine is light enough for transport to class and still have the bells and whistles that I like.

Juki is my new favorite brand-both my serger and my sewing machine

Posted by JemezMama on 21st Sep 2016

I have used this machine for several months now. I really like it. It is relatively quiet, and it operates very easily and sews very evenly too. I had it up and running in less than an hour out of the box. The settings are pretty intuitive once you understand the little graphic icons and what they mean. The button holes it makes are wonderful. The appliqué stitches are even and easy to select. I like that they can be adjusted for size. I have not had to adjust tension for anything, leaving it on the "Auto" setting. The presser foot that raises slightly when stopping with the needle down makes turning the fabric a breeze. You don't have to use one had to raise the lever so you can keep both hands on the project. The multi-function foot control is my favorite feature! I have it set to cut the thread when I push on the rear of it. This saves so much time when doing lots of sewing. I have a shop on Etsy and have been busy making cotton drawstring project bags. My new Juki has saved me lots of time and made sewing even more fun. I highly recommend this machine. The automatic threader works well and consistently. Follow what the manual tells you to do: Line up the hand wheel on the side with the notch on the machine and pull the lever slowly-don't be in a rush and don't force it. If you do that, it will thread the needle very easily. The other places where thread can be cut-on the bobbin winder, on the bobbin case and on the side of the machine for the auto threader, all work very very easily. The only "con" is the bobbin. The automatic bobbin winder works well, but it clicks "off" with the bobbin only about 2/3 full. Bummer. When doing lots of sewing, that means stopping to refill a bobbin. Even though the bobbin can be wound with its own separate motor, I have to stop sewing to do that.
